Fuel Flow Restriction

My 1994 60 degree 150 HP Evinrude is having a fuel flow restriction problem. When I started it yesturday the constant alarm started to go off about 10 seconds after it was running indicating a fuel flow restriction. I checked all fuel lines and did not see a kink. I could pump primer bulb after it was running which would firm it up again and make the alarm go off for about 15 seconds at a time but it would just start the process over again with the alarm going off. Did not know if this could be a VRO pump problem which is still hooked up or something else. Any help would be appreciated.

RickP, look for inline filters and check........Could be Pickup tube screen in the tank....You should be able to blow easily through the filter.....

RickP,

Make sure your tank is venting. Also, check the anti siphon valve on the tank. It may be sticking. The anti siphon valve is usually located right near the tank pick up, or is part of it.

Re: Fuel Flow Restriction

Thanks, I will check the anti siphon valve and fuel tank vent and filter. I have already checked the fuel filter in with the VRO pump assembly and it was fairly clean.
