Fuel hose across the generations...

I'm in the process of "inspecting" my 1976 Eldocraft Eldorado II bass boat. I found the fuel line from the fuel tank to the 65HP Mercury motor had cracked while the motor was tilted up. From the looks of it, the previous owner put together some eclectic pieces to make up the line. From my digging around, I'm thinking this motor would like a 3/8" line. Since this line is assembled with worm gear clamps, is there any reason I cannot or should not use automotive fuel line?

Nope, when I have to replace a line, that is what I use, normally cut a chunk out and head to the auto parts store to match up what I have. I always make sure, I am using fiber reinforced hose designed for fuel.

Have to agree 100%. While you're at it now would be a good time to go over all the fuel lines inside the engine as well. If those are old hoses they may not be ethanol resistant which can cause major headaches with the carbs.
