I have 1979 70hp that is on a 15ft whaler. I am planning on upgrading to a 12 gallon tank that will sit in the stern directly in front of the engine. Would there be any harm in cutting the length of the fuel line to make a direct line from the tank back to the engine? I would leave a little slack of course but only a minimal amount. Thanks.

Re: fuel line length for portable tank

Also with wiring, it is custom for your needs. The shortest distance between 2 points is... I am always checking my integrity of my craft. I have never walked back. As long as there are no restrictions, the fuel should flow.
So your custom fuel line has easy acces to your fuel primer bulb. Easy visual identifiable connections. Tank vent position references. ( sloshing versus running)
Catch 2 fishes
