How often do you replace your fuel line? Started out in 08 with new 3/8" Shields fuel line USCG approved. When should you replace it? 1st would you stay with the 3/8" line or maybe go down to the 5/16" size. 2nd I never installed the ant-siphon device, would you suggest that device be installed. It has a permanent tank above deck and feeds a 40hp outboard motor.

Hose is probably fine if its Coast Guard approved marine type, they last a long time. 2008 is new enough the the hose is most likely alcohol resistant. Never go down in size that would be like putting a restriction in the fuel system. The antisiphon device is for your and others protection. You really need to get one and install it. Only needed if there is a leak but a boat full of gas is no joke.

So the anti-siphon device will not restrict the fuel flow to the motor but will stop the flow if a leak is detected. I have troubles with that theory but do understand the importants of the device.
