hello, i just purchased a new yamaha motor from my local dealer,, and i sat there and watched him start the motor over and over again ,, i saw him let the motor idel for over four min. ,,, i saw him unplug the fuel line and let the motor runs itself out of gas, then i pick it up and take it out to the lake and it starts up fine runs for about 20 seconds, then boggs down and when i try to give it gas it dies on me,,,, is there a special kind of fuel line that i need to purchase, or fuel tank,, i have got to think it is something simple like that but this is my first boat and i havent a clue,,,, could someone please help me ,,,, thankyou and have a nice day

Re: fuel lines

are you sure the fuel line was properly clipped on and the fuel system properly primed and the fuel tank vent was open ?

Re: fuel lines

I agree. Make sure the fuel line is on correctly, and that the hose is flowing the right direction (arrow on bulb) and be sure the clips are oriented right on the tank as well..
