Fuel Mix

Ran my 69 6hp on 24:1 that I use on my 60 5.5hp, was told it was fine. Now motor seems to run good for half hr then shut down. Then start up again. Coils are new and tested, so was hoping its just a hot start prob with condensers. Could the fuel mix mess things up?

That's a little rich on the oil side, are the plugs fouled?
Should run a 50:1 fuel/oil mixture, could be you are fouling the plugs.

24:1 won't hurt your engine it is rich but that is not your problem. Is it pumping water good and not overheating? Your fuel pump could be starting go do you have to squeeze the primer bulb before it will start after it dies? Have you checked the spark when it quits to make sure it isn't a bad coil. The points and condensers are easy to change if that is your issue.

Fuel pump, bulb, lines etc.. all good. Plugs a little fouled. Ran again 20 min then shut down. Checked, No spark? coils new gonna try the condensers hopefully thats it. Thanks.
