motor is evinrude E150STLCUR - 87 I think. Runs at idle will not accelerate. Installed a fuel pressure gage. At idle it reads zero. If you pump the bulb the gage registers (so I am sure its OK). Book calls for 1PSI at 600rpm. Sure seems like fuel pump is defective.

I am using a simpson 260 (analog VOM). I read on your site AC readings times 1.414 would be the reading on peak reading voltmeter. Cranking coil volts in book is 200. I am reading 100VAC each coil (141V peak - right). Coil ohms is 750 and book calls for 970. Ohmic value seems wrong and coil volts wrong, but seems like coils OK (like readings for ohms and volts). Also did a quick check on charging circuit 2-3 amps at idle.

Also ohmed out so-called defective stator removed by local outfit for me last year. Ohmic values were 970 ohms. Seems like wrong stator?

Re: fuel pressure and cranking charge coil volts

Your engine should have a 35 amp stator, charge coil ohms close to 970, charge coil voltage output with peak reading meter should be 200 volts at cranking rpms. The regular 150s have a 9 amp stator, charge coil ohms close to 480, charge coil putput voltage should be 200 volts with peak reading meter. Fuel pressure 3 lbs at idle. You should verify the specs with an Oem manual. Im doing this from memery, and do not have 87 Oem manual.

OK kinda new that. I'll restate the questions. Sounds like I might have the wrong stator installed? Although it seems like its functioning correctly. If I had a peak reading voltmeter then the measured voltage would have been 141V?

And book calls for 1PSI at idle. Seems like fuel pump is defective?

3 questions and really need second opinion.

You may have a stator that has been replaced with a rebuilt version by Rapair, inc. Some of those will have different charge coil resistance specs.

Trent should tell you about the X 1.414. I only use a peak reading meter or adapter.

The Rapair stator specs should be 970 ohms for 35 amp stator, if it is a Rapair stator, it has a 1 year warranty.

I finaly found spec for fuel pump in 1990 book, 1 lb at 600 rpms, but my 1989 class notes say 3 lbs at idle.

I cant help much on the stator, cost of new stator is over 250.00, and I do not change without testing with peak reading meter.
