I own a 2000 Johnson 150 Ocean Pro and I keep getting a check eng light with a 10 sec. solid alarm. Heres the kicker. I put the boat in the water get it started, run up on a plan for about 15 min or so, no problems. I come down shut the boat off when we get to the hole, sit for an hour or so, start it back up (which takes twice as long as it did first putting it in the drink) and instantly theres an alarm. Any advice appreciated.

I changed the fuel water sep.
Checked fuel screen on the front where fuel comes in.
Checked anti siphon valve on tank (there isn't one).
There is no VRO it's straight mix in fuel tank (carb).
The problem dosn't happen with ears on it, only after it runs under load and cools back down.

Thanks.

Re: Fuel Problems?

Continuous alarm is usually a hot alarm and probably has nothing to do with fuel at all. Do you have an owner's manual? It will tell what the different possibilities are. Why do you think it's fuel related?

Re: Fuel Problems?

There is a light for overheat. I know it works because I had it go off and I had to replace a thermostat. Book is on order, but not here yet. I spoke with different mech and they all say its fuel related. I have the owners manual and it says the same, but not detailed. I'm new to this site, and the boat I've owned about a month, I would appreciate any help. Once the boat is running again it runs fine, but the alarm still goes off. Its almost like when it gets hot and cools back off is when the prob. start.

Thanks
