Fuel pump diaphragm

Whats up guys,

I have a 1985 Force 125 and haven't changed the fuel pump diaphragm. I thought about doing it - not sure if this will help me or not - motor runs fine for the most part.

Is it easy to do ? Are there any videos to help me with this ?

looks exactly the same as my Chrysler pump and yes they are easy to do, with any bolt though I always use anti-seize when I am working on my motor. You will need the gasket as well as they always break when you are trying to replace the diaphram.

Yea I jagged a well looked after or hardly used one for $350 Aus, best motor I've had so far. Sold my 75hp which I bought for $200 and the previous owner couldn't start it. So I cleaned carbies first, put the correct plugs in and checked timing and carbie sync and off it wnet first pull, I couldn't believe it. I sold it for $400 as I got this for $350

so what parts do i need to pick up ? #15 and #16 ? Sorry, for some reason the pump rebuild seems confusing to me.

I replaced all of the wear parts / gaskets / valves and the mesh filter screen when i did mine. 4 is the screen, 3 is a gasket, but much thicker and probably won't need replaced, 23 and 24 are valve parts i replaced, 15 is the diaphragm, and you will likely destroy 16 and 2 when you pull the pump apart.

I got parts 2, 3, 4, 15, 16, 23, 24.

You should only need 15 and 16, but if you want to play it safe buy 23 & 24 but I think you need tto buy 3 sets??? Well mine has 3. personally I would just try 15 & 16 first. Cheaper and will probably do the job

The button valves rarely go bad and the one in the outlet side of the pump is difficult to remove. Unless you are having significant pumping problems simply replace the diaphragm and gasket. Then, put a fuel filter between the pump outlet and carbs.
