I am looking for a gasket set for a fuel pump on a 1961 Evinrude Fastwin 18 H.P. model 15034.
I have given up on gasket set and am now looking for the pump itself. I can't seem to get the right part number. I have been given 154611 but this fits 9.9/15 HP.
Confused, Bobjones

Some gaskets are still available for your old pump, and some aren't. Because of this, best to upgrade to a newer style pump.

FYI the updated fuel pump P/N is 0388685 (found on the first line here if you scroll down; Evinrude Powerhead And Fuel Pump Parts for 1961 18hp 15034 Outboard Motor) It doesn't look the same as your old pump, but it will work.
Part number 154611 has been discontinued.

Another FYI, the same fuel pump was used on various HP motor's during this time. There wasn't always a specific pump for a specific HP motor. To save costs, OMC liked to keep their parts bin universal.

After more research I found out that if you can physically mount a pump with the right hole lined up to get crankcase pulses to drive the pump your off to the races. :) Correct?

Well some pumps will not have the flow to supply a bigger hp motor. Depends on the circumstance.

Yes sir. That is for the 6/8/9.9/15 hp motors, but should be fine for your 18. Never tried that one though.

18-7351 is a bit bigger, and is what I would likely use.
