I have a 1975 chrysler with a 90hp 3cyl, 3 carbs. When I pump my primer bulb it does not get hard, so I worked on the carbs and hooked the fuel line with the primer bulb up to the carbs and it gets hard. But when I hook the fuel line with the primer bulb up to the fuel pump and pump the primer bulb it does not get hard and gas pours out of my exhaust snout. What could cause this?

Sounds like the diaphram in the fuel pump has a hole in it. THe gas is going thru the hole and falling down the inside of your motor, untill it comes out the snout.

You should be able to get a rebuild kit, with gaskets and diaphram, for about $15.
