Fuel Pump ?

Here is the problem I cleaned the carbs twice now. When you first start it it will take off great but cuts out. After it cuts out you can get a little more out of it by playing with the choke but not much still slugish. After you play with the choke the primer bulb will leak down. If you shut the motor off you can hear the carb bowls filling back up seems like it is just the top carb but cannot tell for sure. Is this a fuel pump or by me playing with the choke causing it. If you dont play with the choke the bald is just a little soft.

Compression is 120 on all three and spark is solid when the problem occurs.

Re: Fuel Pump ?

I have the same problem w/ my 65hp Evinrude. Have cleaned carbs numerous times, and changed the fuel line as well as the fuel tank. Am still having the same problem. Idles like a brand new engine, but hit the throttle, and it bogs out and dies unless you play w/ the chokes, or run with the chokes fully engaged. PEople say fuel pump...any ideas??? The only # I can find on the engine is J3660322, and is a 3 cylinder electric shift evinrude...

How close to Oklahoma are you have about 50 fuel pumps and or kits for that motor in my shop. I would of already eliminated the little things on this motor but no parts for suzukis anywhere within 500 miles of here. Yours being an rude I would start with a cylinder drop test.
