Re: fuel restriction alarm?
it is a 90 gallon per hour. this started after i put water seperator on. there should'nt be air getting to the in line fuel filter, right. every time i pump the ball gas and some air bubles go to filter
Yea, 90 gph should be more than enough.
I suspect it is more of a restriciton problem than an air problem, and don't know about yours, but mine has several places air can get in at the filter itself (not mentioning any other fuel line areas):
fuel line fitting - Inlet from tank (I actually have two: dual tanks)
fuel line fitting - out to engine (I actually have two: main and kicker)
Gasket where filter cannister screws onto mounting bracket
Gasket where drain bowl screws onto bottom of cannister
I've never had any air leakage problems at all in many, many years and filter types, but you never know. I really doubt that you have a significant problem there, but no harm double checking.
Plus, I could be wrong, but I believe the fuel restricion alarm is based on pressure, not fuel flow. Therefore, I don't know that a little air in the line would cause the alarm. I have heard (but not experienced) that air in the gasoline line can cause over-oiling though.
My guess is that Jonesg is on the right track.
