Fuel restriction question

As I've said on a previous post I have a 225 1998 evinrude. Been getting alarms and think it may be fuel restriction through some research and this great forum. My question is does fuel restriction cause the engine to blow or will it just just down because of no fuel? Thanks in advance for helping ease my mind!!

Fuel restriction will make your motor run lean because it is getiing more air than fuel.

Thanks Hooty. Well the engine runs good but still getting the alarms. My mechanic will be checking it out this week. If it's running lean it would take longer to blow as opposed to no oil at all....right?? Any idea how long something like that would take to start damaging the motor?? I'm worried and just can't seem to ask enough questions. Thanks man I appreciate it.

AntsGrady,<br /><br />DON'T run it anymore. Those alarms are telling you something.<br /><br />Have the wrench check compression, whiles he's at it. That will tell you the health of the engine.

djohns, I am definatley not running the motor any more. I should know something this week but it is eating me alive. Just hoping if any damage was done its minimal whatever it could be.
