my '84 merc 150 doesn't have a fuel-water separator on it. How important are these? I add mercury fuel treatment to the gas, but I never keep a full tank, which would allow condensation in the tank right?

Re: fuel water separator

Fuel water separator is definately needed, not an option as the small filter on the engine hose inside the cowling can easily plug and lean out the fuel mix and that will result in a blown powerhead.
