Re: Fun Question Whats the smallest boat/ motor you've ever tube/ski/knee boarded beh
when I was a teenager in the 60s my dad had a 14 ft plywood boat with a 18 hp Evenrude,we didnt have skis but a tobbogan worked pretty good as a knee board,if you felt real brave or stuped you could even stand up for a short while
Re: Fun Question Whats the smallest boat/ motor you've ever tube/ski/knee boarded beh
My first boat was a 15ft fiberglass closed bow with a 40hp Johnson on it. With only two on board we did deep water slalom starts with it. Top speed was about 25mph on the speedo.
Re: Fun Question Whats the smallest boat/ motor you've ever tube/ski/knee boarded beh
we had a little dinghy with a 25hp - didn't do much in tubing - but we could load up 3-4 tanks and go scuba diving! Just had to make sure nothing was on top of your flippers as you did a back roll entry into the water.
Wish I had video of it - would be a hit on YouTube.

as teenagers we used my 1975 chevy pick up with a 454ci to hydroslide in the surf at Crystal Beach,TX, built a tall pylon and used 150ft rope.
the beach patrol came by and just gave us the look and shook their heads at us.

Smallest boat. 14ft jon boat with a 15HP johnson. I was 6 years old and we use to ski in a farm pond when we couldn't get to the lake during the week in the summer. I have also skied in TX in a round pond used for irrigation behind a pickup truck with a 20ft metal bar welded to a reciever hitch with a 25ft rope and handle. Gotta love those farm boys imagination
Did ski in a canal in FL being pulled by a 64 oldsmobile with my cousin driving....... until I fell at about 40 mph and almost became a Dawin Award winner

behind a 4 wheel drive pickup. we tied a sheet of plywood to truck and ran the river to river trail, after a rain storm, was fun, hard to hold onto beer. GEES! I was young!
