I just added an OEM Tilt Motor to my ‘91 70hp Bayliner Force boat that did not have it. Do i need any fuses in-line to the switches or to the battery positive along the wires from tilt motor. I do have two relays being used. I also wired positive to the hot side of starter solenoid in engine cowl To get my 12v when key off. ….Is that ok? my battery is way up front so I did not want to run long wires to it. Also what gauge wires for trim motor to power and then what wires to switches? Thinking 8 ga and 12 ga, respectively?

Add a fuse to both of the positive wires from the relays to the motor.
Put it in line if that is easiest way to do.
You can check have much current the motor need when running and put a fuse that has just a little bit more current value.
Have in mind that there will be a current peak in the moment the motor starts, so check how large the peak current value is and then choose a suitable fuse.
