G3 1860 Tunnel Hull Boat lists to the port

I've recently purchased an 1860 G3 during the first couple of outings the steering had a very noticeable pull to the right while the boat listed to the left. The dealer addressed the steering issue by installing a no feedback steering system which cured the pull to the right. It would seem the boat was afterward tested in calm water and the list was not noticed by the mechanic. However the list to the left remains and is worse in choppy water. List becomes most notable at planing speeds. The boat sits perfectly level when not under power. The engine is a 75 Yamaha 4stroke. The next proposed solution is to move the battery to the right side which doesn't seem to me to be far enough to the side of center to cause much of a problem.

Anyone with some thoughts on this, your response would be greatly appreciated. I've tried adjusting the jack plate height and the anode. Neither had a significant effect.

Could be a weight distribution problem, or wet foam on the port side.
Find the boat, trailer and motor weights and then go weigh the whole thing. The numbers will tell.

Sometimes a boat will lean one side or the other do to a hull deformety
usually a hook near the transom There is a tendecy for some boats to lean from prop torque. Sometimes these boats will seem to lay down real flat
with too much hull in the water at speed regardless of the trim.

Thanks for the ideas to both of you that have replied. Other opinions are battery placement and Spontoon height. I'm still waiting for the dealer to finish his evaluation. The mechanic said he didn't notice a problem last time he had it out. We will see. They are to test in choppy water this time.

This issue now seems to be history thanks to the installation of a small trim tab epoxied to the port side hull. The initial application of the tab proved to be too much correction and produced a starboard tilt which required a couple of size reductions to finally get it right. The boat is much much better. It was amazing how small a tab made such a big difference. I believe it may have even increased the top end rpm by 100 to 200 rpms.

I think the bottom line regarding the cause is impossible to know for sure but suspicion of the taller heavier 4stroke generating more lean due to the physics of more weight higher would be a good place to start.

I also bought a new Garmin 545 and now can get much better sonar response with the same transducer and am curious as to whether the trim or the higher end unit is the cause. If my curiosity gets the best of me I'll reinstall the original and see.
