The best thing you can do for yourself is get a parts book for your motor. Then just call the Evinrude dealer and give him the part number of what you need. His attitude will change if all he has to do is order the part and collect your money. He probably doesn't have the book either and that is one of the reasons he doesn't want to mess with you.
