Will aluminum that is welded with an aluminum alloy experience galvanic corrosion at the seam when used in slat water? They (the weld material and the base material) have to be different at some level, don't they? If they were not, they would melt at the same temperature.

Does the professional welder use a different fundamental material for the weld than a novice doing a small spot with a torch?

The correct filler is used

Exposed aluminum should be properly coated

Use a good zinc anode in salt water
