The fuel pump has a diaphragm in it, fuel on one side oil on the other.

well, it it were a jet engine I'd say your fuel heater/oil cooler was leaking but on a gas mechanical fuel pump engine, thats the only place the two can come together. Does it start ok? It's possible that you have a needle stuck in tha carb and when you shut down its dumping excess into the cylinders??? But that would show up as a hard to start/run

That much gas getting in the oil it's about 99.9 percent a fuel pump problem...
No way that much fuel is getting past the rings in the cylinder and it still runs..

All I can think of that hasn't been mentioned already would be the carb overflow return line to the fuel pump being hooked into manifold vacuum somewhere and it's pulling fuel out and into the crankcase.

Re: gas in oil

Even if it was dumped directly into the intake manifold, with the engine running it would still be sent to the combustion chamber and burned or flood the engine.
If the engine wasn't running, the fuel pump wouldn't be pumping so there is no way in ell you are going to get liters of gas into the oil.
