Gas Line, 3/8ths or 5/16ths

Morning Gentlman, (Model 856X4L) Putting on a new Gas Line & Squeeze Ball as one of many small winter chores.

What size Line do I need? Appreciated.. dave

Dave,

I replaced mine on my 85hp last season. I could not get 5/16 so I had to go with 3/8. I made it work but the black plastic inlet on the engine would rather have a 5/16. I had to crank down on the clamp more than I like to make a tight seal.

The original that came with my engine was 5/16.
