I have found that using e10 with Stabil is hit or miss as far as leaving carbs full of gas in storage. Some years ok sone years I do have to clean out the carb. Since draining I don’t have to do that. I think it could be variation in the actual alcohol content of the fuel, maybe some samples are more than 10% but unless you test it you won’t know. I have cleaned carbs where there were deposits that would have clogged jets for sure if the engine was started without cleaning it first.

Often it depends on where you buy the fuel to begin with. If your buying fuel that has not had the filters changed or the storage tanks are full of crap, your fuel will be crap. Never buy fuel when the underground tanks are being filled as that stirs up the crap in the bottom of the tank. We have a small farm co-op fuel station that is well maintained. When people complain about E fuels, we tell them to switch stations as the fuel they are getting is crap to begin with. Most folks think popular stations are the place to get fuel, busy, fast turnover, but in reality they can be the worst place to buy your fuel. Due to being busy, their tanks are filled often, keeping the sediment stirred up and the changing of filters is slow as they don't want to shut down pumps when they are busy. Next time you fuel up, stop mid fill and put a quart or so of fuel into a clear glass jar, let it sit for a short while and see how much junk settles into the bottom.....this us not where you want to buy your fuel !
