Re: Gas Price in Calif

Saw a blurb yesterday that the Richmond refinery had just been brought on line again. Ain't that interesting, with gas over $6? Looks like "they" want to rake in as much profit as they can.

OMG! OMG! OMG!!! It sucks to live in Californication!!!

Maybe that's why we're over here and you're over there?

I'm sure all the movie stars, nice weather, and palm tress more than compensate for the crappy gas prices eh?!!!;)

Was $3.96 at the station across from my work a couple of days ago. $4.29 the next day. $4.49 this morning. Hope it slows down a bit.

You have a great point. We are doing a 4 day to see Son in SD real soon, 5 hours and toes in the sand.

We'll fuel up in rural NV @ $4.06 #2 Diesel and get back on the same tank.

Hopeful we won't get any tickets for black smoke or tinted windows.

LOL. Weird info you have! The Richmond refinery is on the SF bay. No oil field there. All oil is tankered in. It was forced to close because of a fire in August.

It was built because of the oil feild. It was pumping in 1980 they declined a deep water port for tankers.

Yeah, and for me it is 45 mins to toes in the sand, 45 mins to Alpine 7000 ft. and frost bite, 45 mins to the desert and Yuccas and Joshua tress, and 15 mins to a freshwater lake where I can fish and ski. Little pukey lake, but I can still do it. Oh, and I boat 4 hours East. Go figure

We have an 11,500 ft. peak within 80 miles of the shore and we have an Island paradise 26 miles offshore. I'll keep thinking of stuff . . .

Still want to know why you said the Richmond plant closed because the oil field dried up.

Uh... yeah, look at the dates on those and how far apart they are.... and how many does Cali. have in a month, a year?

We supposedly had one in my area about 8 or 9 yrs. ago, I didn't feel anything... was kinda sad I missed out on it.

You really should read up on your own geology... do the words San Andreas mean anything to you?
http://geology.com/articles/san-andreas-fault.shtml

How many times have you heard of a freeway collapsing in Alabama because of an earthquake?... and hasn't Cali. had this happen more than once?

Our earthquakes are meager and puny because...

they're scared of our TORNADOES!!!:p

...???? ok one more time......in english.
BP

Just referring to the economic differences such as very high minimum wages (that vary depending on local), very high tax burdon, things such as entry level homes costing substantially more. In other words Canada and many parts of the US are like apples and oranges.
