Gas tank

Hello,<br />My gas tank is completly empty, and I just stored my boat for about 4 months. I was wondering if I can leave the tank empty or it's best to fill it up?<br />Thanks

stemar,<br /><br />I store mine full with fuel conditioner. However, don't panic, many store theirs empty.<br /><br />Corrosion really is only and issue in steel and aluminum tanks.

The one downside with leaving your tank empty is condensation. You may end up with some water. If you have a water separator, it’s not a problem.

The problem with storing empty; is how do you get a little fuel conditioner in the carb...did you do this first? (Not to mention a little condensation down the road.) Did you fog the motors? Change oil in the lower unit? Maybe put a little fogging spray and/or outboard oil in the spark plug hole? As you can see I'd be more concerned with storing the motor.

Mumblerone,<br />I have done everything you mentioned above and I think my engine is very well stored, That's why I'm concern about the gas tank now.
