another ? from the noob.was having probs ,with my fuel line,so i decided to check out my fuel tank and screens in the tank.my tank was intergrated in the boat.so i pulled check valve and it works,i tried to pull screen were tthe fuel line fed into,but was unable to pull it out.so i tried to pull where it tells me how much gas ,the sending unit,i pull it out and its rusted and a ball of rust fell back into my tank.which is empty because i syphined the gas.what do i need to do to repair this,besides reclean my tank.do they have another type of setup where i can run a diffrent fuel line?need help badly.

It helps if you post pictures, I am assuming you have a check valve with an anti siphon valve inside of it as shown in the picture, Replace it and install new fuel hose of the correct size and rating. The valve seen is sold at West Marine or this site.
Also replace the sending unit its sold here on this site

install a fuel water separator, filter. clean as much as you can out of the tank.

my siphon looked nothing like that.i was wondering if there is another way of running gas from the tank to motor.with out putting float back in,i have never ran my boat past half way.and the tank,its a 18gallon tank,and i only fish and hoop for lobster in the bay or at the breakwater wall.im gonna try and post some pics,its im a lil computer handicap.
