Hi All. My 1969 merc 125hp straight six has chewed it's gearbox. I saved my gearbox from my old 1976 115hp straight six and tried to fit it.<br /><br />I ground the small locating pin to the rear of the gearbox off so it would fit up but it doesn't seem to quite match up at the front. When I do the bolts up it still leaves a hairline gap between gearbox and leg towards the front.<br /><br />It actually works (I ran it for a little while on the river to try but I won't be using it again as it seems to get water in the oil.)<br /><br />Any ideas on these being interchangeable or why it doesn't quite fit up?
