gear lube leaking around my shifter on lower unit

I was putting a new waterpump on my 92 130 yamaha and noticed oil leaking around the shifter. It is held in by three bolts. Do I need any special tools. It looks like it would just pop up and put some type of oring around it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Carefully pry it out. likely cause is the small seal around the shaft.
