gear oil

i have a mariner 20hp outboard, just wondering what kind of oil to use for the lower unit? i think the motor is a 98-2000

look for lower unit gear lube in the boat section at your favorite store that should do it. I like to use the quicksilver stuff and the little pump that goes on a regular quart bottle works great to put it in but they sell it in a tube like thing to that works well also.

You will likely find Quicksilver in 80-90w at Walmart, and right beside it one of those screw-pumps. It shouldn't be hard to find unless Walmart is out of stock, which I find the case sometimes. Look in the marine section near the fishing rods.

shouldn't really make to much of a diffenece just make sure you get lower unit lube not just automotive gear lube
