Gear shift rod housing

I'm replacing gasket (1987 88SPL) on Gear shift rod housing. The replacement came with two o-rings anyone know where they go? The diagram makes it looks like you put 1 o-ring on the rod below the housing. Hopefully this will be my last question about this repair haha

The o-rings go in the hsg. Depending on what hsg you have it could be either one or two. You'll have to dig the old one/s out with a pick.
