Re: General info for a newbie w/a 79 crestliner crusader
take the safe boaters Course, make sure you have all the coast guard equipment. start slow and get the feel of your boat. we all have to do that with a new boat, as each handles differently. practice docking during the week when the docks are not crowded. practice launching and retriving. have your boat ready to launch before you get in line to launch. the best way to get yelled at the ramp is back in, and start loading coolers, skis, and that crap, have your stearn strap off, plug in. etc. it is best to start your engine at home on muffs, to make sure it will start and pump water. nothing worse than to have a dead battery on the ramp.
