Many of us that live in this area consider Georgian Bay a bit of a challenge, especially the North Channel, which is on the north shore of Lake Huron north east of Manitoulin Island. A bit of a bragging right for some boaters who have successfully navigated through it. But this stretch of water, some of the most dangerous in the Great Lakes, can quickly and unexpectedly turn into a nightmare, which happened to a dock mate a couple of weeks ago.
