This website reminded me when PETA put bullet proof vests on deer. A sporting goods shop in the area caught wind and offered a reward for the vests. More deer were killed in that county then in any others in the state.<br /><br /> http://www.fishinghurts.com/ <br /><br />Just goes you show you how dangerous a liberal can be.

Hey Hey Hey, all of us liberals are not fanatics. That's like saying Jerry Falwell is the poster boy for conservatives. Each has their own fruitcakes. (I know, I know, there is someone that will flame me for that too)<br /><br />I can say that PETA is filled with a bunch of misguided people (Hey trying to keep the "****'s" out of my posts)<br /><br />Around here, PETA let out a bunch of minks that were part of a vacine testing company. Great, now you have to watch out not to be bitten by a rabid mink. They are extremely nasty animals before they are injected with a disease. I wish some PETA people would take some home as pets. <br /><br />I do wonder if they are out there trying to train Northerns to be vegetarians, I would get my camera for that.

PETA does not realy stand a chance. I mean after all how dangerous can you be when you eat veggies and have had any trace of your basic kill or be killed responses removed by a lack of being outdoors.

Well.....A couple of years ago some guppy counters went around sticking those deer whistle (you know the ones that make the sound so deer don't run out in front of your car) underneath the trucks of the hunters at the local roast cat.<br /><br />From what I understand they got away with quite a few....It was inevitable that they would get caught.<br /><br />now close your eyes for a minute and think....You are a rather large man with a rather large gun in your truck...You have just finished breakfast at witch you have disscused with all of your hunting buddys the rather large deer you intend to shoot during your day of hunting.<br /><br />You walk outside to get in your rather large truck and find a guppy counter putting some new hardware on the underside of your 4 wheel drive vehical....what do you do?<br /><br />The only thing you can if you are a large, angry, redneck that has just wittnessed someone messen with your truck....<br /><br />Grab his leg like a chicken neck, yank him out from under your truck, and beat the stuffen out of him.<br /><br />Who do you think went to jail?<br /><br />You guessed it....the hunter.<br /><br />Must have been an awful long walk up those courthouse steps for that guppy counter with that deer whistle sticking sideways in his butt though.<br /><br />Derwood.

LOL - Derwood, that's another one of your masterpiece posts... I'm still laughing. I'd have to agree with PeterFishBuster...anyone stupid enough to tamper with the large truck of a large redneck with a rather large gun - has definitely lost their kill or be killed responses.... (particularly if the truck has a "stars and bars" flag - and there's bullet holes in nearby stop signs - eh Crab Bait?... ). <br /><br />Don't worry...those people won't last long in the gene pool with that kind of behaviour... <br /><br />Ross - unfortunately we have those people here too, but I dont know what they call themselves. One of them stuck their stickers on my Explorer - good job I didn't have a gun...

Nope....not very bright.<br /><br />Its not the hunters that kill animals that are protected anyway....Its money....plain and simple.<br /><br />I have seen it to many times....I once saw a big wig from a auto company drive onto a lot and have a nobody that worked for him get out and cave in the entrance to about a dozen gopher tortise holes.<br /><br />All so he did not have to relocate them....in the long run it would not have cost him much to do it....It would have cost him time in finishing his carlot....big woop.<br /><br />Me and my boss were not happy and as soon as he left we uncoverd the holes and tied each one in by angle and distance....then showed them on the survey as active and listed them "to be relocated".<br /><br />Now way to get out of it now....not without a stiff fine and jail time.<br /><br />Derwood.

Thanks Derwood, Someone's got to look out for those species that are struggling with our rate of development. I have no problem shooting animals, eating animals or even punching an obnoxious dog in the head, but I hate to see them destroyed senselessly, especially those that hardly have a chance anymore.<br /><br />If anyone wants to shoot deer come to my Vegetable garden, it's full of them, I have to eat venison because it's all I can get out of my garden!

Calico, I here you on the deer. I live in the village and the deer are so bad that they even eat the twigs off my apple trees after they strip all the leaves. Unfortunately I cannot shoot them in the village. Won't be too long before CWD gets up by us and we won't want to eat venison. Now don't get me started on the groundhogs.

wow calicokid, those words should be heard by every peta activist around the world. well said. the first part is exactly how i feel. i think most hunters have a great appreciation and love of animals. and respect for what they mean to us who are meat eaters. <br /><br />if they'd solve the problem of why a zillion cats & dogs are euthanized by vets every yr, then i might have a little respect for them. i don't mean picket & whine but make it happen. -get that straightened out, and i'd at least listen to their game plan on wildlife management... maybe. <br /><br />i'd have to have eaten a few vegan meals and confirmed i could be content without meat before that.

Oh for God's sake! These PETA twits are nuts! When travelling, I always try to see if waitress is a veggie(my buddies I travel with know the lines. )I always tell em, cook it only til it stops twitching and let me see the blood on the plate. Always is interesting to see their reactions! LOL **** , last weekend, me & 2 buddies ate at least 25 trout on fishing trip - duhhhh... God made animals for US to dohhhhhhh??? EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? and we let a heel of alot of em go - catch & release. No waste. Geez..... Take care, Heinz<br />P.S. Maybe I should tell em the story of my family living in Nazi Germany WWII who would MAYBE get horse meat once every week or two!

pretend the world majority had turned peta-fied and vegan...knowin you guys, i bet alot of neighbors' pets would end up missing <br /><br />-what's that miss? fifi?... ya know, theres a mighty big gator down at the duck pond, did ya look down there?<br />-oh yeah, i been saying that hawk needs to be relocated, its just scary how big it is. why, just last month i lost 2 of my beloved chickens.<br />-no, thats a sinkhole in my yard i decided to throw some dirt over to keep from tripping in it again.

Scoop, I live on the dry-sand prairie along the eastern shores of Lake WI. The food supply for animals is pretty lean out here except for peoples yards, gardens, and trash. At night the roads and lawns are like wildlife refuges. I've nearly hit two deer in my driveway with the car, had one sneak up behind me while I was working in the garage, had the plants eaten off my deck, found deer sleeping in my front yard, been blocked from entering my house by a skunk on the stairway, trapped and relocated several coons and possums, kept a log of dozens and dozens of different birds visiting, photographed rare frogs, insects, caught a rabbit by hand, caught a ferel cat by hand, provided nesting sites for hundreds of small critters and birds, yet I've NEVER seen a woodchuck out here! I'll trade ya for a couple of deer... (live ones, I can't shoot them either) Do you know of any programs in the area where a guy could hunt deer and donate the whole thing to a food pantry maybe by paying for the cost of processing even? The fear of CWD just might keep too many hunters out of the woods this year allowing the heard to get REALLY out of control. Maybe PETA could protest CWD...

Calicokid, Yeah, I have a lot of wildlife too. I live in pardeeville There have been accidents on our street because of deer. Plants eaten in our front yard. Skunk smell almost every night, had 10 flying squirrels in the house. They are endangered so the exterminators cannot touch them. Took me 2 years to get rid of them. The groundhogs dug under the foundation of my carriage house and start flinging dirt everywhere. I don't understand the deer since they have farm field around with plenty of corn, soybeans etc. As for foodbanks, none around here are accepting donations of venison. Some up north are, but I am sure the deer has to be from there. I heard on the news this morning that they found a deer with CWD in Portage county. They supposedly are not sure it has spread there? The deer must have been just visiting the area on vacation or something. There is no way they can kill all the deer and the deer kill is going to go way down this year. I hate to think how many deer will be around next year.
