Haven't been on the water last 3 years and it is killing me.
Got laid off and had to sell the boat, back to work a few months later but still trying to catch up.
The plan was to buy a cheap $3000 bowrider spring of 2012.
Then the other day a deal falls in my lap I couldn't turn down.
Local Marine shop went out of business and he gave all the boats to my neighbor(he has to haul out everything and gets to keep the best)
So I was talking to him about a four winns vista 258 but decided it was too much of a project to take on right now.
I said how much for the Baja? (1996 Baja Islander 180 Anniversary edition)
He said $500.......I said SOLD!
Needs engine and outdrive but everything else is there.....I am so excited....won't be on the water til spring but at least I have a nice looking Baja sitting in my driveway

If there was ever a worthwhile glasser rebuild project.....that's it right there. Nice find! What are your power plans?

Glad you're back with a boat Tubingluvr.

Gonna keep it original....had a 4.3LX and Alpha one in it originally (this model came with either 3.0 or 4.3) and thats whats going back in.
Found a guy that deals only in used mercruiser engines and outdrives....can hear run before purchase....engines run $800 to $1600 and Alpha outdrives start out at $400 complete

Wife has already named the boat "Aquaholic"......we have spent the last couple days scrubbing and polishing....starting to look pretty darn good....last time it was in the water was in the water was '08 so it was pretty darn filthy....found a pair of Obrien skis in the ski locker....cleaned them up and they look awesome.
