Hello

I just received a boat, the transom has tiny cracks its 1972 tide craft 15 ft with an oversized engine causing the problem, all the cleats need replacing everything is sound, the floor inside a little weak & has cracks. Is there any one you would recommend to have boat resurface with fiberglass, also I am placing a smaller engine? For reasonable price.

is it worth it to resurface boat to use?

Its gonna get pretty expensive, unless you can find a friend to do it for you.

Howdy, Girl.

Welcome to iboats. :)

If the cracks go all the way through the fiberglass they should be repaired. Cracks in the gel coat are common and not to worry about. A complete resurfacing would be too expensive for a boat that age.

How big is the "oversize" engine? Is there a HP rating plate on the boat?

Please don't duplicate your post. Once will get you all the help we have to offer.

Good luck. :)
