Very positive. It looks like the 2000 model, and the serial number indicates the hull was made in 1999 April.

The easy way to tell a first gen and a gen II is the skeg. A first gen will be straight vertical in front of the prop and a gen II is swept back above and below at the prop side.

That would make the build date Sept. '99 but no difference. It's still a 2000 model.

So the drive SN is: A531600 and the motor is; A432256. Making the engine and motor from 1985-1986. Had a marina look at it and they said it's an original motor on the boat. This sounds extremely strange to me.

I don't see how they could tell you it was original to the boat.Maybe an original engine/drive/gimbal combo but it can always be swapped out to a different boat.

This is pretty common, especially in Canada. A dealer there will order boats without a drive train. It eliminates any tax/tariff or trade agreement between 2 countries. Then he puts whatever engine & drivetrain in that hull. Could be any power in it he wanted, Volvo, Merc or an Alpha 1 that was in good enough shape too sell!

There's been free trade for quite awhile.
Besides, there's apparently 15 years difference between the hull and drive system.

Perhaps the owner convinced Glastron to build him a boat but had to put this power package in it.

I doubt that they would do that since they can't cover it under warranty. I'm still thinking it was swapped. There would be no real indication of it.

Finally got to the bottom of this. Contacted glastron and they informed me that the motor came with a Volvo Penta 3.0 GS. I guess the marina guy was wrong.

Sorry if I just missed this in the posts somewhere, but what size engine is the Mercruier?
