Ok wife's van, G20 Mark3 conversion, wipers quit last night.
She went to turn them on and they would not come on.
Checked fuse and replaced with new(was not blown) and still nothing.
My question is, do the wipers have a circuit breaker also or share one with something else?
Thanks in advance as always. :)

Want to try something?? Check the mounting bolts that hold the motor to the firewall. On some, you'll see a ground strap spot welded to one of the washers going to the chassis. Loosen and re-torque these mounting bolts. The bolts sometimes pass thru rubber mounting bushings. I repaired a friends wiper motor on a Chev Astro. Seems under the 'black box' controller mounted to the motor itself had developed bad solder joints on the major brass feed-thru's of the PCB. Re-heating the connections and applying fresh solder fixed him up.

What year is it. Some of the mid 90's models had a recall on the wiper motor. The controller was bad. It is the black box that mounts on the motor itself. Sometimes wiggling it around would help temporarily.

wvit100, it's a '92 model with low miles(68,000) and never has had a moments problem out of it.
I checked alldata and found no recalls for the wipers.

Re: GM gurus

I have a '97 GMC pickup and I have received a recall notice about the wipers. If I could find it again I'd take mine to get them serviced. I've owned the truck about 18 months and a couple of times the wipers failed to operate. I usually reach out, grab the wiper arm, and give it a little tug. Sort of a "kick start". They've always started operating.

It's funny, the only time they don't work is when it is raining. ;)

Hi SBN
The guys are on the right track. . .

The circuit board on the motor has cracks in the solder joints. Remove it with a few screws and resolder the obvious ones. Typically the ones closest to the plug. . . :)
