good motor/ design

question: i have a 1986 rebuilt 110 omc motor. the question i ask is how long is this motor good for ? good design? i use merc premium plus oil, i have it on a 19 ft anglar boat center console rmp @ wot app 5800 rpm light load, love the boat although tend to give a wet ride! thanks for replys :cool:

if you keep engine temp where it should be<br />and have the propper lubrication then you will enjoy it for a long time.<br /><br />things to look out for are:<br /><br />- tstats <br />- waterpump<br />- waterflow deflectors. they will after 15 years of service swell up and block the waterflow to your bottem cylinders.<br />- clean carburetor. running lean = burning pistons.<br />If you are equiped with VRO service the oiltank.<br />Make shore it is working propperly.<br />do a decarb every season.<br />use the right sparkplug.<br />change lu gearoil every season.<br />use inline waterfuel seperator.<br />dont overprop.<br /><br />reeldutch
