I bought and sprayed 2 gallons of ROUND UP from Lowes 2 weeks ago.
It did NOTHING !!! More garbage being sold for top dollar.

What else can we try ?

Weather can make it work or not work....it needs to rain within 24 hrs after applying or it slows the action considerably ! If it rains to soon it will stop it from working. It needs at least 8 hrs before raining and preferably 12-16 hrs to get into the plant leaf before rain. The mixing ratio is critical, if your using the premix stuff, your wasting your money !

I read up on Roundup. Bayer bought it. Decided the reputation was so good after lawsuits . KEEP the name to steal consumer money thinking the same chemical was still in it. Rake in that money. The Glypotal chemical is not in it anymore since 2018. BUUTT BUUTT
Go go American business.

Web info says to kill my Bermuda or Zoysia grass / weed. Use strong bleach. My next batch.

Roundup here has glyphosate as the active ingredient and really only for grasses. The stuff is neutralised as soon as it hits dirt . I find it works well as directed but if you want something to keep the driveway clear I use Tag gen 2 . I figured if the dairy terrorists can use it and still get a clean test reading it will do me but you gotta be careful as it kills anything it touches and is active in the ground so spraying next to flower beds is out ( I can still hear her hollerin ) as it will kill off the edges.
Oh yeah .....dont spray the driveway and then ride quad over the lawn coz any spray on the tires will kill the lawn ( yep , more hollerin ).

Last time I sprayed, it rained 12 hours later. It took another 24 hours to see the grass and weeds start turning brown- but they did! 👍
I’m sold on this method because neighbors have little kids (and we all have wells). It’s also less expensive than any of the marketed products. Also, I don’t want to pollute the land.

The concentration of the “pre-mix” sold in big box stores are bare minimums.
As noted above, must be applied while the target is dry or add a surfactant into the mix.

I have two, five gallon containers of Round Up concentrate out in the garage that I use around the farm. At one tablespoon of concentrate to 1.5 gallons of water, it would take your yard out and the over spray would take out half your neighbors…lol

I had a driveway excavator reuse the stones in my 225' X 10' driveway. He then laid out a Recycled Asphalt mixture of small stones in the Asphalt. Packed it down 2 years ago. Has survived cars and smaller delivery trucks very well. $ 3,400.

40 years ago, I used to use a Product called Ureabor, It was granular Soil Sterilant. It was basically 2 out of 3 Parts that make up Fertilizer, and it would really dry out/burn the Plants. It guaranteed a 1 yr Kill, but often it was good for 3 - 5 yrs

As for Round Up, the original Product was one of the safest Weed Killers made, you could practically drink the stuff without having any Concerns.
At the other End, Broadleaf Weed Killers, like 2-4-D, were Nasty Chemicals that could wreck Havoc with our Nervous System

I have shifted To Borax and salt in parts of the drive way turnaround area. Get several years before animals bring in new seeds. In their poop.

I used to like Ortho ground clear, the old stuff with Triox.
But many states banned Triox because it lasts for 25 years or more.
I sprayed about a foot all around my garage back in 1989, and nothing ever grew there again. It took out the grass and weeds that were there in a matter of an hour or two and 36 years later its still bare dirt. It didn't seem to bother bugs though as it did nothing to kill the ants or wasps I get every year but borax and sugar water in small traps take care of the ants and a shop vac gets rid of the wasp nests.
