a roll of t.p would be better than this clymer. 73 50hp rude mod 50373 top cylinder missing intermitently, like every other beat, swapped coils, same responce, clymer shows plugs UL77V but no gap, what help is that. taking it out tomorrow with aux engine to get in, just in case.

UL77V is a surface-gap plug and as such the gap is not adjustable. However, the chart I looked at recommended QL77JC4 gapped at .030.

You can gap them at .040" for a little bit better idle.

new plugsQL77JC4 gap at 30. great spark 3/4 " blue both plugs. still idling rough. river tested today, will run great a wot for about 4min and cut off, just quit, no sputter no warning, same at 1/2 throttle. sometime will start immediately sometimes have to wait about 2 minutes. is not running hot, can hold hand on block, i've got to get compression tester. made it in under own power just aggravating. i am using aftermarket tanks. also, forgat the carbs look like the are sweating on the outside as it is running.

Just from an experience that I've had with the aftermarket tanks, I didn't completely cut off running but would lose so much power that my motor felt like it was on one cylinder. Not so. It would sit a while as you describe and run perfect again. Maybe for an hour. Never could tell.

To make a long story longer, I went back to the OEM tanks and all problems solved. The plastic tank I had (key word here is HAD) had no "base" for the fuel connector to seat against and stay flat. Sucked air, leaned it out to where it wouldn't run right, wouldn't start without holding the choke for 10 seconds even when operating temp. NO MORE A'MART FOR ME!!
