Got my 1954 12 hp sea king running.......BUT!

I cleaned the plugs and carb. Got it running in the barrel after a lot of pulling. As long as its warm it fires on one pull. After letting it sit for a couple hours it takes starting fluid to start it again? Any ideas??

Well, you shouldn't use starting fluid. There is no lubrication in it and fuel without lubrication in it, is bad for two strke outboards. I think you might need to go through the ignition system on it and make sure the coils are in good shape and the points are clean and gapped to .020
