I'm with 45 auto. There's more missing from this question than there is useable info. Literally every single possible problem that can occur with a boats powertrain is still on the table. The only way this is getting fixed is to bring the boat to a professional marine mechanic and open your wallet. Since you live in Utah and it's mid July, you should expect to get in line behind a lot of other people trying to get their boats back on the wallet. Not what you want to hear, but.... As for the rebuilder having you "retorque" things on the engine he assembled, ah.....that table of potential issues just got even more crowded.

Took the boat to a mechanic he said it should be something simple..Because it does start right up. He is going to do a diagnostic on it

Ok, got the boat back and he said I had #2 and #4 wires crossed, he did a compression test and said all cylinder are at 125lbs he told me that seams very low but they are all the same why would a new engine have low compression?

It's not broken in yet, the reings aren't seated.

That sounds like a question for RapidO, since they are the ones that have to honor the warranty if anything happens.
Generally, it is continuously vary your speed, no wide open throttle for a give period, and change the oil after a given period.

What Don said, vary RPM's frequently up to about 50% WOT rating then after 10-20 hours same thing up to 75% WOT rating, then 10-20 hours after that your golden, thats pretty conservative. Dont plan on taking a couple friends out and headin 20 miles down the lake as its kinda a pain to throttle up and down like that.

I live in utah as well and that boat with a new 350 should be running a way bigger prop than a 17. I run a 21 pitch hi five on my 20 foot 350 carbed crownline. If I didn't do so many water sports I would be running a 23 cause I lose a bit on the top end with the 21 hi five. After break in I would be looking at different props, and who told you the 17er is the way to go(so I know who NOT to deal with) I would think a 19 would be a minimum even at the mountian lakes(echo, pineview, deercreek, bear, etc) Also check you outdrive gear ratio it should be on the side towards the top if its not the right ratio you will never make up the difference with a prop..

Not to be negative, but hope that didn't create some accellerated wear on the cylinders and pistons as they would have "washed down" with unburn't fuel aslong with the stress of running rough if you ran it like you said you did.

Marine products and peterson marine told me that it is the most common 17 or 19. My gear ratio is 1.50..
