Have a day in between rain fronts and wanted to see if the hose in the fuel tank I modded was holding up ok , and so far it seams to be and ran across a nice stripper for dinner.

Nice fish! What did you catch him on? I have lost a couple of nice fish this year so I'm carrying a landing net on the boat now. One of these days I hope to catch one big enough to need that net. Sounds like you are getting the fuel tanks set up right again.

Yea so far I am happy with the tanks, I was concerned about the in tank hose mod and while its a single layer PVC fuel hose with no inner liner and PVC is a common material for fuel hoses you all ways worrie but it has sat in the tank for a week now and their is no little black specks in the in line sight filter so I think its going to be fine.

this is the filter

I mostly cat fish and I use chicken liver, and this time of year the stripper`s hit that a lot, in fact I got 2 other at 4 pounds the week before and those were very tasty, lol I have pics of those on my phone but haven't gotten those off yet. Been using a bottom weight and a leader about 20 inches up the line, that seams to work good in the 5 to 10 mph winds we are having right now. Their hitting so soft you think its a gill.

Spilling that chicken liver in the boat reminds me of one time when I took my youngest son out. We were fishing with Sonny's super sticky catfish bait and were dipping those rubber stink bait worms in it. Had a ball catching catfish but we had to stop at a car wash on the way home to wash the stink bait out of the carpet. That was when I had a 18' fiberglass trihull inboard boat. Boy was that boat a lot of work. I had to work on it for three days to get it running every time we used it. I should install filters like that in my gas lines.

Thats one of those things that happens, Its due for a cleaning any way. Its been in use and on the slip since the last week of February. Every so often Ill drag the trailer out to the lake and put the boat on it and head to a near by car wash and power wash it off or bring it home if things need a bit of fixing. Right now it can use a good washing.

Back years ago when I had a bow rider I trailered it all of the time and after a nights cat fishing my daughters would come into my room while I was trying to sleep to tell me,,, dad the boat is making a buzzing sound.. lol it was from the flys on the left over liver containers and you could really hear them at around 10 feet. of course I had all ready planned on running it through a car wash but it was funny. I could hear them daring each other to go and look in the boat to see what was making the sounds.

I know the guys here have all sorts of filters in their gas lines but this is the first time I have added one and the only reason I did was because of the PVC hose I put in the tank. I dont think its going to be any sort of a problem but its a just in case sort of thing. The research I did showed that nylon and PVC are the two most common types of fuel lines. Its in the tank so it didnt need the UV outer liner, its a straight PVC fuel line hose with no liner and if I see black specks showing up then I will know to do some thing else. So far the hose has been in the tanks in fuel for about 2 weeks and no signs. I run the real gas so I dont have a water separator filter.
