I didn’t get it yet. Probably a backhanded way to get info they can use to increase registration fees. I won’t be filling it out.

More than likely they're contemplating offering tax refunds (road tax) for fuels consumed in a boat.

A number of States are now offering to refund the "road tax" portion of your fuel if you submit receipts at the end of the year or........justification to move money from transportation budget over to Fish and Boat

Interesting if that is really true. I was wondering why any Fish & Game would care about boat fuel usage.

I think NJ cuts a break for the commercial and charter guys. Been a long time since I looked at how they break down the code. Its still a scam the way its set up but honestly how the state appropriates most of it's tax revenue is a scam to begin with so it is just what I expect at this point.

Report Boat Fuel

When boaters purchase fuel for their boat, they pay state and federal Liquid Fuels Taxes. The state tax is refunded to the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) where it is used to provide benefits for boaters. The amount of tax refunded to the PFBC by the State Treasury is based on the fuel usage information boaters supply when completing the Boat Fuel Usage Survey administered by the PFBC.

Every time I renew the boat registration I get a question of approximately how many gallons of fuel did you use. Supposedly the State of PA will then take that amount and transfer the road tax to the Fish and Boat Commission.

I don't recall any questions like that for my registration, maybe I did. First ever getting this.
So maybe so.
Waiting for the snail mail one.

I tried to get a copy of the PA registration renewal form, but was having difficulties. Anyway, the Fish and Game Commission gets a 12 cents per gallon reimbursement for the fuel YOU use. They get the road tax rebate, not you, just to be clear.
