gps maps ?

i have a lowrance ifinder and i am trying to find maps i can download onto a memory card.

anyone have any suggestions on where to look for free downloads?

i have looked at the plug-n-play but cant seem to locate my favorite location....i have found what i thought were free maps but cannot open any of the documents afetr i have saved them.

p.s. i am very limited when it comes to computer knowledge.......so if you have any tips on the procedures for transferring data to memory cards (successfully) they would be much appreciated.

It wouldn't surprise me if a company would let you download the maps for free. They make their money on selling you the program to open the maps once they are on your computer. Check the fine print on their website.

The only free ones I know about is on Lowrance's web site. But I believe you have to use them with another program such as Map Create or something like Fishing Hot Spots.
