hello

I am looking to plot a track using waypoints to represent each buoy, but I do not now where to get the coordinates of each buoy. I dont see them on my charts. Is there some type of map or chart that shows the coordinates.

Thanks
Cool It

Re: GPS Waypoints

This will take a little work but it might be worth it.

And it's free.

Go to www.noaa.gov and follow the links for navigational charts. Or just click here:

http://ocsdata.ncd.noaa.gov/ChartServerV2.0/jsp/index.jsp

Click the button that says "Proceeed to Noaa ENC Downloads" and then find the charts of the area you want.

You'll also need to download an ENC viewer, they're free and you can find links to them on the site.

Once you install the viewer you can view the charts. They look like this, and as you move your mouse around you will see the coordinates of where you are on the bottom of the screen. Just put the mouse over the bouy you want and there you go!

Good luck! If you need help let me know.

Re: GPS Waypoints

How hard is is to take a pair of dividers and figure out the coodinates using the scales on the chart?
