Re: Grease for impeller?
Yeah, I know – enough already. Gotta say, though, can’t figure out how some of you boys can apparently replace an impeller and NOT get it all lubed up. When I’m working on a lower unit, I’ve got grease and crap all over screwdrivers, hands, shop rags, manuals, you name it. By the time that impeller is in the housing and in place on the shaft it’s been slicked up with lower unit oil, exhaust crap, grease from my KFC or McD lunch, and probably stuff I don’t want to identify.
Remembering the owner’s manual from my ’62 VW, with a pic of a guy’s forearm and hand pointing to the dip stick – nice tweed jacket, white cuffs showing just the right amount. Should have a blow up of that on the shop wall.
