Hello , I recently picked up a Grumman 1437 Jon Boat. Overall its in good condition. After searching posts i found answers to a lot of questions i had , But still have a few more.
I water tested the boat both in water and filled the boat with with water at the house . Overall i noticed 3 leaky rivets , 2 of them i was able to fix easy . I want to put Gluvit on some other spots inside to be safe . I may decided to do the whole inside floor rather then spots, if i do that what is the best to use to get it prepped properly ?
The bottom of the boat one spot looks rough ( see pic ) but oddly the rest looks good ( see pic ) I can see where someone used jb weld in a couple spots, should i remove that and refix them also ?
Last one is a different owner added alum. on both transom sides for extra motor support . This appeared to be just caulked and needs fixed . The gap is visible and iam worried about that (see pic ) I noticed it leaked when i water tested inside the boat and tilted the water so it was high in the back.
After i get these fixed i will start i minor conversion . From what i can read on the boat sticker the boats holds only 335lbs. So iam not real sure on where to place batteries and livewell ect.
