Note this pic from your original post...

Are the wires terminated like they were in this pic? I hope the purple and the pink are not reversed, as applying 12V to the sender position will fry your sender...if they are hooked as shown in this pic, make sure your ground is good.

If you wired you're backlights as I suggested, coming off your nav light switch, check for both a good ground on all your gauges, as well as the presence of voltage on the blue wires when the nav light switch is on. Powering the backlighting from the nav lght switch, you don't need your key switch to be on, just the nav lght switch...

yup its hooked exactly as the picture there. I have the ground as original where its running from guage to guage all looped so it shold be good since the other guages are working just fine and reset to zero.

as of now i didnt wire the backlight to the nav light switch. i wanted to see it it works as is and i put the ignition on and still nothing. there is proper ground going to guages so shouldn't they all work?? is there a separate ground for the lights??

As you can see in the pic below..there is a blue wire on the right that hooks to the screw which i guess is for the light. then on the opposite side is ground. all of them are hooked like that for the most part. there should be power to the blue since the other guages are working right

Take a length of 14/16GA wire and hook it up to the positive on the battery. Strip some off the other end and touch it to the posts where the blue wires on your gauges terminate...one by one. If the back lights light up, then your not getting voltage from the nav light switch. If they don't light up, check to see you have good grounds from the light socket.
