Thanks Jason. That is what I was hoping for but it has exceeded all expectations. The whole object was to make it look nice and do it in a manner that would keep it like that. Hopefully that has been achieved as well.<br /><br />Did Swimmin give up on his resto??

Hey boom,<br />You got that manifold round the wrong way, the distributor is supposed to be at the other end of the engine.<br />Seriously though it looks great in orange and black.<br />You cant be many days away from making some noises now.<br /><br />Good luck,<br />Peter

Naw Peter, it's just 'cause yer lookin at it from the bottom side up. <br /><br />..and BTW, that is RED and black. I guess the digital gives it an orangish appearance but it is red red red.

Boom I ran out steam I think. I did that last year too. Ok money LOL.<br />All I need is-<br />-sew the cover backtogether as the seams gave out. <br />-redo all 3 carbs and install new jets.<br />-cover the side bolsters with foam and vinyl.<br />Fix the carpet down better and hide the mess ups. <br /> However the boats acceptible to use so I do.<br />If it comes down to go or fix, I go.

Swimmin just doesn't have the time, and I think he feels I'll do the T-bird up proper, although the jury is out as to how recognizable it would be when done.

I was going to say, its almost a shame to fire it up! <br /><br />Great job boomster, personally, given the fact that I am deep in my heart A Ford Man, I would have loved to see that pristine arctic white bay have a Windor Blue motor in there, with polished aluminum valve covers shot with a coat or two of clear (no Cobra covers available???)<br /><br />So, what shade of orange is that again? <br /><br />

TBT, digital photography is not a perfect technology yet. That motor is painted FORD Thunderbird RED. It is truely red. For some reason the digital gives it an orange cast. <br /><br />As to the red vs blue, after 30 years of lookin at that thing it was time for a change.<br /><br />Thanks for the compliment.
